MYTH I:Immigrants take wanted jobs from Americans.
MYTH II: America is being overrun by immigrants. MYTH III: Most Immigrants take away from the U.S economy MYTH IV: Immigrants come here to take welfare MYTH V: Immigrants don’t want to learn English or become Americans MYTH VI:Today's immigrants are different than those of 100 years ago. MYTH VII: The war on terrorism can be won through immigration restrictions. MYTH VIII: Most immigrants cross the border illegally. MYTH IX: Weak U.S. border enforcement has led to high undocumented immigration. |
FACTS
FACT I: Studies have shown that immigrants are more likely to create jobs, by creating new businesses they actually create jobs for Americans.
FACTS II: This is inaccurate because America revolves around immigrants. Besides the fact that yes there are plenty of immigrants in America, they only settle in six states: New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, and California. They come to make a better lives for themselves, families and to improve the American economy. FACT III: Immigrants pay $90 billion a year in taxes. They receive $5 billion in welfare. Before they are allowed to enter the United States, they must prove they won’t be a burden. FACT IV: Immigrants come to be reunited with family members and to work. Their intentions are not to come to America to collect from the government for themselves. FACT V: 75% of the immigrants after ten years speak English very well. They demand English classes when arrived to the U.S. FACT VI: The foreign born percentage in the U.S. now is 11.5% In the early 20th century it was 15%. Alike the immigrants 100 years ago, immigrants now settle in mono-ethnic neighborhoods, and speak their native languages, and they build business that cater to needs to their native people. FACT VII: Ever since 9/11 occurred, No security experts said that immigration restrictions would have prevented the attacks on September 11, 2001 meaning that immigrants that come into the United States aren't / shouldn't be considered as terrorists FACT VIII: About 75 percent of immigrants today have legal confirmation to live in the United States and the other 25 percent are listed under an undocumented category. FACT IX: The border patrol’s budget increased six-fold from 1986 to 1998. The number of agents stationed on our southern border doubled to 8,500. The Border Patrol toughened up their enforcement strategy. |
